Mark your calendars for CenterStage Summer Rep's first offering
THE 25TH ANNUAL
PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE
performed at the Louisville Arts Center in Memory Square, July 27 to August 7th.
"SPELLING BEE" is a hilarious tale of overachievers' angst chronicling the experience of six adolescent outsiders vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime. The show's Tony Award winning creative team has created the unlikeliest of hit musicals about the unlikeliest of heroes: a quirky yet charming cast of outsiders for whom a spelling bee is the one place where they can stand out and fit in at the same time.
In addition to the six Spelling Bee contenders from the cast, four members of the audience get to participate in the 'Bee each night making this a truly community participatory event!
This production will showcase emerging theatre artists, college age and older, and we hope that many of our treasured CenterStage alumni will come back and audition for one more show! Open auditions will be held in late April/early May.
Please check the CenterStage website for additional information or contact the director, Jeanie Balch.
Check next month's newsletter for information about Titanic, the Musical, our second Summer Rep show. Auditions for this teen cast will be held in mid-May.

Titanic: The Musical
Winner of 5 Tony Awards including Bet Musical, Best Book, and Best Original Score
Story and Book by Peter Stone / Music and Lyrics by Maury Yeston
Directed by Jim Freund
Titanic is based on the true story of the great ship's maiden voyage from departure in Southampton, England to the sinking in the Atlantic by an iceberg. The show touches on issues such as class, immigration and mankind's vulnerability in the face of nature. The story follows passengers and crew-members who actually existed and were aboard the Titanic back in 1912.
There are many fabulous parts in this beautiful ensemble work for students entering 8th grade through finishing their first year of college. Auditions will be held in early to mid-May.
Rehearsals will begin at the end of May, usually two evenings and one weekend afternoon per week. Performances will be held from July 21st through July 30th at the Dairy Center in Boulder.
