In a rare piano-only show, Tony-nominated musical theater writer Joe Iconis (Be More Chill, Signature Theatre’s upcoming The Untitled Unauthorized Hunter S. Thompson Musical) will perform an intimate set of original tunes, brand new material from shows in the works, explosive singalongs, and a whole lot of banging on the ol’ piano. Joe's frequent collaborator and longtime muse Jason SweetTooth Williams (Be More Chill, Broadway Bounty Hunter, Disney's Freaky Friday) will join Joe to sing some of his signature songs as well as brand new material. Come join us, have a good old-fashioned cry, share a laugh with a stranger, and shake off your dust with contemporary musical theater’s favorite maverick writer.
Joe Iconis is a Tony-nominated musical theater writer and performer. His musical Be More Chill has played Broadway, London, and Tokyo, and his new show The Untitled Unauthorized Hunter S. Thompson Musical (directed by Tony®-winner Christopher Ashley) will play Washington D.C.’s Signature Theatre after its world premiere at La Jolla Playhouse. Joe is the author of Love in Hate Nation, Broadway Bounty Hunter, Bloodsong of Love, The Black Suits, Punk Rock Girl!, and more. Jason SweetTooth Williams is theater/tv/film actor, a writer, a musician and a father. He was seen on Broadway as Mr. Heere in Be More Chill, and originated roles regionally and Off Broadway in Disney's FREAKY FRIDAY (La Jolla Playhouse), Benny and Joon (The Old Globe), Bloodsong of Love (Ars Nova), The Untitled Unauthorized Hunter S Thompson Musical (La Jolla Playhouse), Gun & Powder (Papermill Playhouse), The Black Suits (SPF- The Public Theater), The Witness Room (Off-Broadway) and others. Jason also played opposite Jackie Hoffman as Prince Dauntless in Transport Group's revival of Once Upon a Mattress, and was seen as a Melrose Brother in Jelly's Last Jam for Long Wharf Theatre. Jason is an original member of the award-winning theater collective known as Iconis and Family and can be heard on Joe Iconis' albums "THINGS TO RUIN", "The Joe Iconis Rock n Roll Jamboree" and the 44 track opus "ALBUM". As a screen actor, Jason appeared opposite Jared Leto in WeCrashed for AppleTv+ and was seen on episodes of BULL, FBI, Marvelous Mrs Masiel, American Horror Stories and the feature film Notice to Quit.
