plays FOR GRADES 2-8
Harry Potter Workshops: Due to the strong demand for our Harry Potter productions, we have expanded our offerings this summer, providing students with 2 different options for both of our summer productions (for a total of 4 productions of 2 plays). It is a little confusing since we are offering the final part of the Harry Potter saga in 2 separate plays – Harry Potter, Book 7, PART 1 AND Harry Potter, Book 7, PART 2. Each production is being offered twice in back-to-back weeks. If you want your child to experience the whole of the final book, they will need to register for one of the Part 1 classes (either A or B) and one of the Part 2 classes (either C or D). Do note that some classes have Sunday performances and some have Saturday performances. Check the individual listings and call us if you have questions.

“A person’s a person, no matter how small” expresses the central message of inclusion that permeates this timeless tale. "Oh, the thinks you can think" when Dr. Seuss' best-loved characters collide and cavort in an unforgettable musical caper! Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical JR., a fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must also guard an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!

MUSICAL PROGRAM FOR GRADE 7-12

MUSICAL PRODUCTION
Urinetown, the Musical
Grades 7–12
Dates: July 21-Aug. 2, 2025 (2 weeks daytime rehearsal)
M-F, 9am-4pm (July 21-Aug. 1)
Weekend Rehearsal (added due to Thurs. Opening): Sat. July 26, 12-8pm
Performances (4): Thurs. July 31, 7pm; Fri. Aug. 1, 7pm; Sat. Aug. 2, 2pm & 7pm
Location: Black Box
Tuition: $825 (NO Audition required before registration)
Winner of three Tony Awards, three Outer Critics Circle Awards, two Lucille Lortel Awards and two Obie Awards, Urinetown is a hilarious musical satire of the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, environmental collapse, privatization of natural resources, bureaucracy, municipal politics, and musical theatre itself! Hilariously funny and touchingly honest, Urinetown provides a fresh perspective on one of America's greatest art forms. In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity's most basic needs. Amid the people, a hero decides that he's had enough and plans a revolution to lead them all to freedom! Inspired by the works of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill, Urinetown is an irreverently humorous satire in which no one is safe from scrutiny. Praised for reinvigorating the very notion of what a musical could be, Urinetown catapults the "comedic romp" into the new millennium with its outrageous perspective, wickedly modern wit and sustained ability to produce gales of unbridled laughter.
** Parents should note that Urinetown contains some mature content (PG-13). This is a darkly comic satire that includes some staged violence (several of the main characters are killed, though not graphically). We encourage parents to familiarize themselves with the story before signing their children up for this production. Detailed information can be found at: Urinetown - Wikipedia

CenterStage is delighted to be returning to the Dairy Arts Center for our 2025 summer mainstage production which will be presented in the 117-seat Grace Gamm theatre at the Dairy Arts Center in Boulder. In “Roaring Twenties” Chicago, chorus girl Roxie Hart murders a faithless lover and convinces her hapless husband, Amos, to take the rap...until he finds out he's been duped and turns on Roxie. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another "Merry Murderess," Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines, ultimately joining forces in search of the "American Dream": fame, fortune, and acquittal. This sharp-edged satire features a dazzling score that sparked immortal staging by Bob Fosse.
