2018-2019 Season
INTO THE WOODS
Directed by Melissa Williams Musical Direction by Ian Matheson Performances scheduled for February 21 - March 1, 2020 at CenterStage Black Box Theatre in Louisville. An ambivalent Cinderella? A blood-thirsty Little Red Riding Hood? A Prince Charming with a roving eye? A Witch...who raps? They're all among the characters in James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim's fractured fairy tale story INTO THE WOODS. When a Baker and his Wife learn they've been cursed with childlessness by the Witch next door, they embark on a quest for the special objects required to break the spell, swindling, lying to and stealing from Cinderella, Little Red, Rapunzel and Jack (the one who climbed the beanstalk). Everyone's wish is granted at the end of Act One, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later, with disastrous results. What begins as a lively irreverent fantasy becomes a moving lesson about community responsibility and the stories we tell our children. |

Barefoot in the Park
September 14-23, 2018
CenterStage Black Box Theatre, Louisville, CO
A Play by Neil Simon
Director: Lynne Niston
Paul and Corie Bratter are newlyweds in every sense of the word. Hes a straight-as-an-arrow lawyer and shes a free spirit always looking for the latest kick. Their new apartment is her most recent find -- too expensive with bad plumbing and in need of a paint job. After a six-day honeymoon, they get a surprise visit from Corie's loopy mother and decide to play matchmaker during a dinner with their neighbor-in-the-attic, Velasco, where everything that can go wrong, does. Paul just doesnt understand Corie, as she sees it. He's too staid, too boring, and she just wants him to be a little more spontaneous. Running barefoot in the park would be a start.
