Summer Programs: Our summer performance classes DO NOT require an audition before enrollment. Auditions for individual roles take place during the first few classes. Roles are then assigned, and the rehearsal process follows. Unless you are notified differently, there is no specific preparation necessary for the initial auditions. Though all students are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the script or story of the play and the music. All students enrolled in the class will be guaranteed a part in the play.
Productions for High School grades and older: Production classes for our older grades usually REQUIRE AN AUDITION before enrollment. There is never a fee required before the audition. Tuition is only due after a successful audition; before or on the first rehearsal. Audition dates will be announced soon. All auditions require an appointment. If students have conflicts with the audition dates, please contact us and we will work to schedule an individual time or discuss video submissions. All auditioners should prepare a 1-minute monologue and 16 bars of a song.

casting POLICIES
Casting: At CenterStage we understand the complexities of casting students for performance. We take the process very seriously and work hard to ensure that all students are engaged by the collaborative effort needed to put on a play, and that every student finishes our production experience with a positive feeling. Our programs are designed to prepare young adults who will be excited about creating theatre and not overawed by the desire to be "the Star." Success in the theatre is most often a product of intense desire, great dedication, and willingness to participate in a collective, collaborative, and creative process. Parents should remember that there are no refunds OR credits of tuition - even if students disappointed in their casting.
Double/Single Cast: Depending on the number of actors enrolled, we may double cast some or all roles. In these cases, performances will be split evenly between the two casts. Please note that if a show ends up with a single cast, we may eliminate some of the performances to ensure a robust audience for our students.
