Once Upon A Mattress: Youth Edition is a one-hour adaptation of this beloved musical, designed for young performers. Many moons ago in a far-off place, Queen Aggravain decreed no couples could marry until her son, Prince Dauntless, found a bride. Princesses came from far and wide to win the hand of the prince, but none could pass the impossible tests given to them by the Queen. That is, until the “shy” swamp princess, Winnifred the Woebegone, showed up. Would she be able to pass the Sensitivity Test, marry her prince and help Lady Larkin and Sir Harry to the altar? Carried on a wave of wonderful songs, by turns hilarious and raucous, romantic and melodic, this rollicking spin on the classic tale The Princess and the Pea provides some side-splitting shenanigans. After all, a princess is a delicate thing.

Based on the adored movie, Legally Blonde: The Musical stays true to form with a peppy score and playful book. Elle Woods appears to have it all. Her life is turned upside-down, however, when her boyfriend Warner Huntington dumps her so he can start getting serious about his life and attend Harvard Law School. Determined to get him back, Elle uses her charm to get admitted to the school. Once there, she struggles with peers, professors, and her ex-boyfriend. With the help of her new friends Paulette and Emmett, Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world. In a conclusion that is equal parts courtroom drama and musical comedy, Elle discovers her authentic inner power and, in the process, finds her true love at last. This amazing show is perfect for our academy artists, featuring a contemporary setting and characters as well as a large ensemble and several big song-and-dance numbers. This CenterStage Theatre Company mainstage production features professional direction, musical direction choreography, lighting, set and costume design and much more.
