This six-week intensive workshop class is a step-by-step breakdown of the auditioning process. It is designed for both younger and older students and is valuable for beginners and experienced auditioners including prospective DSA students, CSTC, and local school productions.

Helen Campbell (she/they) is a Colorado-born and raised performer, director, stage manager, and choreographer. Recent highlights include directing the musical BARE: A Pop Opera at The Arts Hub and choreographing Shrek Jr. at CenterStage. Some of their favorite past roles include performing as Heather Duke in Heathers, Peter/Boy in Peter and the Starcatcher, Lumiere in Beauty and the Beast, Lavender in Matilda, and Grace Fryer in Radium Girls. With a passion for education, performance, and the power of the arts, Helen is thrilled to be working with the next generation as a part of the CenterStage team.

Ever wonder what happens behind the scenes in musical theater to bring you the best sound possible from the stage to the audience? In this class we'll cover the basics of sound design and sound board operations and mixing. When finished you should understand the fundamentals of physical sound, acoustics, digital sound. We’ll also cover basic equipment used for sound reproduction and reinforcement in theaters.

Kevin Cubillas (President)
Kevin has been a member of the CenterStage board since 2014 serving as Treasurer before moving into the President position in 2020. He has recently taken on the role of sound engineer in recent productions of All Together Now and Seussical. He has also appeared in a few shows with Tapestry theater including Schoolhouse Rock, Elf, and the upcoming Cinderella (summer 2022). Kevin has over 30 years of experience in financial systems implementations and web application design. His first big task when joining the board was a complete overhaul of the CenterStage website. |
