About the role

The Assistant Stage Manager is a key part of the production team for Peter and the Starcatcher, our fall play for teen performers. You'll help keep rehearsals organized and run the backstage side of every performance, from flying props to fast scene changes.

This is a great fit for an organized, upbeat person who enjoys working with teens and wants hands-on stage management experience.

What you'll do

  • Attend rehearsals and track blocking, props and entrances and exits.
  • Set up and reset the rehearsal space and props tables.
  • Run backstage during tech and performances, including scene shifts and quick changes.
  • Help supervise student cast members backstage and keep the space safe.

What you'll bring

  • Some stage management, backstage or crew experience in school, community or professional theatre.
  • Strong organization and clear, friendly communication.
  • Comfort working with and supervising teens.
  • Ability to pass a background check, required for all staff working with youth.

Schedule & key dates

Auditions: August 21–22, 2027
Rehearsals: August 24 – October 14, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings
Tech week: October 15–21
Performances: October 22–31, Fridays through Sundays
