Shakespeare 101

with Kyle Lawrence

Shakespeare 101 is a new class offered by CenterStage which focuses on developing acting technique through the works of William Shakespeare. This is an introductory level class where students will learn the basics of classical acting technique, Shakespearean language, poetic meter and rhythm, and physical characterization. Students will have the opportunity to study, rehearse and perform a Shakespearean scene, as well as a sonnet or monologue. There will be an informal showcase for family and friends during the final class session. All materials will be assigned and provided by the instructor.

This class will be taught by CenterStage favorite Kyle Lawrence, a Colorado actor and educator, specializing in classical acting and the works of Shakespeare. Kyle just finished his fourth season with the Colorado Shakespeare Festival and is thrilled to be bringing the works of the Bard to CenterStage.

Limited to 12 students.
