Applauding All Abilities

Since 2012, Tapestry Theatre has cast actors with disabilities in leading roles, side by side with peer partners. It's one of CenterStage's most cherished programs.

About Tapestry

A Stage Where Every Performer Gets To Shine

Tapestry casts actors with disabilities in lead roles, alongside peer partners who serve as understudies. Together they rehearse, perform, and celebrate live theatre in a fun, welcoming, inclusive, and safe space.

Our performers discover talents they never knew they had, make real friendships, and connect with people of different interests and abilities. Along the way, they change how our community sees ability.

Why People Love Tapestry

“The world would be a much brighter place if everyone were as kind and honest and generous as the cast and crew of Tapestry. This experience has changed my perspective on human nature.”

“You find that the ordinary will take on an added sweetness and become extraordinary as you watch your child grow into the person she is destined to be. Being involved with Tapestry is one of those moments.”
